Caught
You walk into Think Tank Gallery, which is hosting District 798, a show of new work by multicultural artists inspired by the Xiong Collective, a group of Chinese dissident artists. Lin Bo, a representative of Xiong, is there to present a new piece. Recently profiled in The New Yorker after being imprisoned in China for a single, epic work of art, Mr. Bo begins his presentation by sharing the details of an ordeal that breaks your heart and stirs your sense of justice. But… you soon find yourself in a thrilling and hilarious maze of truth, art, identity politics, and cultural appropriation, where nothing is as it first appears.
As part of District 798, a groundbreaking art show at Think Tank Gallery, Firefly produced a fully immersive LA premiere of Christopher Chen's Obie-winning play CAUGHT, directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar.
