Flags

Firefly presented the east coast premiere of FLAGS off-Broadway at 59E59 in the fall of 2007, when it was the first American play about the Iraq war to be on a major US stage during the war and was the first time Jane Martin's work was brought to NY since MTC's TALKING WITH in 1982. Originally commissioned by the Guthrie, FLAGS uses the structure of a Greek tragedy to tell the story of a working-class American family and their loss of a son in Iraq. The production starred Chris Mulkey, Karen Landry, Stephen Mendillo, Ryan Johnston, and Steven Klein and was directed by Henry Wishcamper.
